The folks at Savage Mill are looking for volunteers to assist with working at greeter tables inside the Mill on weekends between Nov. 26 and Dec. 18. Volunteer duties would primarily consist of informing visitors about the special events going on each weekend and helping visitors orient themselves to where things are. 4 volunteers are requested per shift per day during the hours the Mill is open (Sa: 10-6; Su: 11-6). The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) now allows local school systems to repurpose inclement weather days as asynchronous school days. At the discretion of the superintendent, HCPSS will use up to three inclement weather asynchronous days during the 2022-2023 school year. Older students share their wisdom and experience with younger students while developing their own leadership skills for life beyond high school. Earn community service hours for teen meetings and other HC DrugFree events. The Bright Minds Foundation has released the scholarship application for students who currently qualify to receive Free and Reduced-Price Meals who are taking courses on HCC's campus this Winter and Spring. Bank of America Student Leaders® Student Leaders is an eight‐week summer experience for high school juniors and seniors. The program includes a paid internship with a local nonprofit organization as well as the Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C., July 17-24, 2023. The program gives students the opportunity to develop and apply leadership skills through hands‐on community work while discovering their own talents for serving their community and leading others.
