Catalog of Approved High School Courses

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) offers a wide variety of courses for high school students. The Catalog of Approved High School Courses can help you and your parents select the courses that are best for you and your future goals. Choosing the courses for your high school program is an important task that you should do thoughtfully with your parents.

Jump Start:   

A partnership between HCPSS and Howard Community College to expand options for students to gain college credits, explore possible careers, or earn an associate degree.

Career Academies:  

A Career Academy offers high school students with similar interests a unique opportunity to prepare for college and entry-level employment in the specific career areas listed below. Each Career Academy offers a recommended sequence of courses, internships, capstone project, or research project related to students' career goals, and the opportunity to earn college credit and/or industry certification while in high school.

Innovative Pathways

The Innovative Pathways Program provides course offerings for students seeking course credit in support of individualized student goals centered around academic opportunity.  Evening school, credit recovery and summer school classes are offered through Innovative Pathways.
