The RHS Robotics Club participates in the First Tech. Challenge competition, through their affiliate First Chesapeake. Students design a robotic system which can execute both autonomous, and controlled operation, to meet the design challenge goals of the competition. The competition can be reviewed, and information can be found at firstinspires.org, and First Chesapeake can be accessed at firstchesapeake.org. To participate, students are required to participate in community outreach for team sponsorship.

Students may participate in the competition after submitting all required documents, which takes place on a TBD weekend (Saturday or Sunday) as scheduled by First Chesapeake. Transportation to events must be provided by the individual student.

RHS Robotics meets every Monday and Thursday, that school is in session, from 2:15 to 4:00pm beginning in September. The competition season last until approximately February, after which students will focus on organizing, and prepping for the following season. The meeting location is room 118.
