The Zaching Against Cancer Foundation (ZACF) is a non-profit foundation established to provide support to cancer patients and their support networks through scholarships, research, and direct patient outreach. The ZACF is proud to present six $2,500.00 Spirit Award Scholarships to Maryland High School Students in the 2022 graduating class who will be attending a two- or four-year college. Those who qualify may have experienced hardships such as: being a cancer survivor, a caregiver for someone with cancer, or a relative of a person with cancer.
Known to all as a free spirited, athletic, kind hearted individual, Zach’s dream to help others who experienced similar struggles will never fade. Founded by Zach Lederer and his parents, John and Christine Lederer, ZACF hopes to one day rid the world of cancer.
In the past three years the ZACF Spirit Award Scholarship has provided $107,500.00 to students in the state of Maryland who have been affected by cancer in their lives. Please help us in increasing the awareness of this scholarship opportunity to your school community.

The following criteria must be met in order to apply for a ZACF scholarship:
Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
Must be a senior in high school.
Must plan to attend a two- or four-year college within the following calendar year of receipt of scholarship.
Must have overcome some sort of significant hardship, medical challenge, and/or family issue relating to cancer during their life.
Must complete the 5 sections of the nomination form, including 3 individual nomination forms (see website for said forms -- https://www.zachingagainstcancer.org).
Must not be a family member of a Zaching Against Cancer Foundation Board or Scholarship Selection Committee Member.
